Representative Projects
● Urban Impaired Stream Continuous Monitoring: 
SEE conducts long-term monitoring programs for municipalities across Maine, involving multi-month logger deployments and routine servicing. These datasets support watershed planning and management efforts to address water quality impairments. Work follows Maine DEP’s Continuous Monitoring of Water Quality Standard Operating Procedures (2016), USGS’s Guidelines and Standard Procedures for Continuous Water-Quality Monitors (2006), and the Maine VRMP Quality Assurance Project Plan (2020).
● Dry Weather Outfall Monitoring: 
SEE performs routine dry weather outfall monitoring for regulated MS4 communities in accordance with client-specific Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination (IDDE) QAPPs. We maintain and calibrate field equipment, record geo-referenced data using electronic inspection tools, and conduct in-house analyses for E. coli and optical brighteners. Samples requiring additional analysis are coordinated with certified laboratories under strict QA/QC procedures.
● Benchmark and Impaired Waters Monitoring: 
SEE conducts and coordinates stormwater discharge monitoring to support compliance with the Maine DEP and U.S. EPA Multi-Sector General Permits (MSGP) for industrial activities. Services include visual inspections, field parameter analysis, sample collection, laboratory coordination, and quarterly reporting in accordance with EPA and Maine DEP standard operating procedures.
